The Show's 2018 winners!
The 2018 Show demonstrated how Tostock residents can overcome difficult weather conditions to put on a stunning show.
Young Faramir Newport was the worthy winner of the George Taylor Plate for young gardeners, winning the heaviest onion with a whopper, weighing nearly 1kg!
The Copeland Trophy for the best photograph went to Jim Langlois for his snowy scene.
The Floral Art trophy was won this year by Sarah Reader, while the Cowdell Cup for Homecraft went to Jane Parnum.
Derrick Poole was awarded the Simon Reynolds Tray for the best tray of vegetables. Dave Plester had offered to make the wooden tray, but very sadly died before he could do this. Members of the Bacton Community Workshop very kindly fulfilled his promise, so the tray is in Dave’s memory as well as Simon Reynolds. Both are greatly missed in the village.
The Tostock Trowel, awarded to the best “newcomer” went to Lionel Grooms....hardly a newcomer to the show, but who has never won a trophy before.
Derrick Poole also won the Pineacre Runner-up Cup and the Parish Council Challenge Bowl went to Jane Putt.
Many thanks to all who took part in the show, whether by setting up, clearing away, running the raffle, serving teas or taking money at the door, but especially to those of you who competed.....
without you, there is no show.
