Saturday 8 August is the 75th Anniversary of the end of the war in the Far East.

Tostock's flag pole was erected in 1995 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary by Colonel Peter Dean who lived at “Foresters“ in New Road. He had been a Prisoner of War in Burma and Japan and later worked to improve relations between Gt. Britain and Japan.

At 11am a wreath will be laid at the flag pole “in memory of those who fought and suffered in the Far East“.

All are welcome to attend.
