As mentioned in the last chronicle, this year alongside Open Gardens we are planning to hold a Celebration of Weddings. So what we need are your Wedding Dresses, Bridesmaid Dresses, Page Boy outfits etc, anything to do with your wedding. If you don’t have your dress, then photos or any memorabilia you have from your wedding day. Did you get married in an unusual place or have an interesting tale to tell. Maybe you’re still using that toaster you were given as a gift!!
The plan is you will exhibit them in the Church alongside a small floral display representing the flowers you had on the day.
If anyone has a tailors dummy or mannequin they could lend us for the day we would be most grateful. There will of course be the famous “Tea Tent”, plant stall and other attractions at the Church. We have approximately 10 gardens and would welcome 2 or 3 more. some old favourites plus some new ones are already lined up.
Your garden does not have to be up to Chelsea standard. The visitors always enjoy seeing the different gardens and rounding the afternoon off with tea & cake.
For the garden owners it is a very pleasurable way to spend a Sunday welcoming friends and visitors to chat and talk gardens.
